Our team of winemakers performs the carassonage at Château Bellefont-Belcier. This is a vine maintenance operation consisting of checking or replacing the vine stakes and all the equipment used to "support" the vines.

On Monday 30th January, the Coupe des Crus de Saint-Emilion took place. It allowed to designate Château Tour Saint Christophe and its three vintages 2018, 2019 and 2020, from among 24 new Coups de Cœur de Saint-Emilion, which will be honoured throughout the year.

"This is pure merlot, with black chocolate, bark, black truffle, ripe plum, and violets. Some black olives. This is very structured and linear with super fine tannins that run very, very long. Dense silky texture. less than, 3,000 bottles made. 1.1 hectares in total. Needs five to six years of bottle age. Try after 2027."

"So much black fruit, black walnuts, blueberries, wet earth, black truffles and some graphite. Medium to full body with lots of tension ands focus. It runs very long with a salty undertone and some bitter, burnt lemon. Yet ever so subtle and refines. Drink after 2027."

This seductive wine is crafted around true lemon and white flower aromas. To participate in the collective effort, Dr. Adrian Cheong, son-in-Law of Peter Kwok, and Vignobles K have just donated more than 700 personal protective equipment to French hospitals. Dr Adrian Cheong a renowned cardiologist in Hong Kong took a fellowship training at Hôpital Bichat Claude-Bernard, Paris, focusing on minimally invasive coronary artery and valve procedures. This gesture will allow French doctors to practice their profession in the requested safety standards. Our thoughts and good wishes are with all those who are involved in the fight against Covid-19.

Blending 2018 vintage of Enclos de Viaud, with Mikael Laizet, our consulting oenologist of Rolland laboratory, our winemaker Jérôme Aguirre, and our cellar master Alexandre Leblois.

After pruning, we proceed to ‘tirage du bois’ which means removing the shoots from the trellis. This step is important; Océane removes the cut branches in order to free up the space for the fruit to grow in the coming months.

A jury of 100 wine professionals has selected Château Bellefont-Belcier, coups de coeur 2020, in the Grand Cru Classé category.

Pruning is a technical and meticulous work ; we observe last year’s vegetation. Alexandre is attentive to the future harvest by carefully selecting the wood prunings that shall grow the next crop.

Peter Kwok was honoured with the insignia of Officer of the Legion of Honour by the Consul General, during a ceremony held at the Residence of France in Hong Kong on 29th November 2019.
